5 For behold, the time cometh, and is not far distant, that with power, the Lord Omnipotent who reigneth, who was, and is from all eternity to all eternity, shall come down from heaven among the children of men, and shall dwell in a tabernacle of clay, and shall go forth amongst men, working mighty miracles, such as healing the sick, raising the dead, causing the lame to walk, the blind to receive their sight, and the deaf to hear, and curing all manner of diseases. | Textual Parallels 51 There are numerous phrases contained in this chapter that parallel phrases that are unique within the KJV bible, all within the Book of Revelation. Compare verse 5 stating "the Lord Omnipotent who reigneth" to Revelation 19:6 with "the Lord God omnipotent reigneth". Compare verse 13 stating "to declare... to every kindred, nation, and tongue" to Revelation 14:6 with "to preach... to every nation, and kindred, and tongue". Compare verse 26 stating "they have drunk out of the cup of the wrath of God" to Revelation 14:10 with "The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God". Compare verse 27 stating"their torment... whose smoke ascendeth up forever and ever" as well as "lake of fire and brimstone" to Revelation 14:11 with "smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever" and Revelation 20:10 with "lake of fire and brimstone". |
6 1 This view of mental illness no longer seems to hold any weight even in the LDS Church. If I’m wrong about this, please cite any modern exorcisms acknowledged by the LDS Church.
7 1 The verses found in Luke 22:43-44 are not found in the earliest manuscripts of the Gospel of Luke. These were likely added in later as a response to Marcionism. Since verse 44 has some of its ideas echoed in Mosiah 3:7 and D&C 19:18, this becomes even more problematic regarding the reliability of LDS scriptural texts.

11 1 And yet, the LDS Church does ordinances for the dead, even though according to this Christ’s blood atones for those not knowing the will of God, and according to Moroni 8:22-23, those who have not the law need not baptism.

13 And the Lord God hath sent his holy prophets among all the children of men, to declare these things to every kindred, nation, and tongue, that thereby whosoever should believe that Christ should come, the same might receive remission of their sins, and rejoice with exceedingly great joy, even as though he had already come among them. | 13 1 Taken at face value, this language seems to be a demonstrably false claim. Mormons could argue that before Christ, the Jews had prophets that did this (the Jews and most others would disagree of course because non-LDS records have the House of Israel prophesying of a Messiah in more general terms). Then until relatively modern times when have there been prophets declaring all these things to all people? As I understand this verse, it just has not fallen out this way. There still are peoples and entire countries that know basically nothing of this. Additionally, this seems to contradict other teachings within the Book of Mormon. See 2 Ne 9:25-26, Mosiah 3:11, Moroni 8:22. 1 There are numerous phrases contained in this chapter that parallel phrases that are unique within the KJV bible, all within the Book of Revelation. 15 And many signs, and wonders, and types, and shadows showed he unto them, concerning his coming; and also holy prophets spake unto them concerning his coming; and yet they hardened their hearts, and understood not that the law of Moses availeth nothing except it were through the atonement of his blood. | 15 |

18 For behold he judgeth, and his judgment is just; and the infant perisheth not that dieth in his infancy; but men drink damnation to their own souls except they humble themselves and become as little children, and believe that salvation was, and is, and is to come, in and through the atoning blood of Christ, the Lord Omnipotent. | 18 |
19 For the natural man is an enemy to God, and has been from the fall of Adam, and will be, forever and ever, unless he yields to the enticings of the Holy Spirit, and putteth off the natural man and becometh a saint through the atonement of Christ the Lord, and becometh as a child, submissive, meek, humble, patient, full of love, willing to submit to all things which the Lord seeth fit to inflict upon him, even as a child doth submit to his father.

Endless/Eternal Punishment 251 According to D&C 19:6-12 the words “endless” and “eternal” do not mean without end when it comes to “endless torment” or “eternal damnation”. These verses in the D&C explain that these words are used because, “it is more express than other scriptures, that it might work upon the hearts of the children of men.” When people read these words in the Book of Mormon, how do they likely understand the words “endless” and “eternal”? Is this honest communication if D&C 19 reveals the actual meaning of these words?
